When you offer superior surgical techniques, your medical devices have a greater opportunity for market success. This is the fundamental principle driving everything we do at the Orthopaedic Instrument Global Design Center.
Simply stated, when you have demanding new product launch schedules, we have the expertise to concept, design and develop instrumentation that is synchronized with your new product introduction.
Our strategy is to get involved early and operate as an extension of your development team. Adding Paragon as a resource allows you to expand your development portfolio and focus on other program requirements.
The Global Design Center always has your finish line in mind. Our understanding of the regulatory demands as well as the entire commercialization process affords our clients the confidence that their product will launch on time.
As extended team members, we provide full collaborative design, development, prototyping and testing capabilities for surgical instrumentation, implantable components and cases & trays.
Working with OEM product development teams, we focus first on our customers’ objectives and the need for a sound surgical technique. Then we concept and design innovative medical devices that meet your input. These designs include metal and polymer, or a hybrid of the two. The result is an efficient, cost-effective solution for reusable or single use instrumentation.
Develop more products, fasterHow many products do you have in development? How many instruments must be concepted, prototyped and validated? Involve us in your product development and we can help you get more done in less time.
The design center team has extensive project management experience through the entire commercialization process. We fully understand the compliance process, including regulatory and design validation requirements. This knowledge allows for a more seamless design transfer to ensure a timely launch.
Reducing manufacturing costsAnother key benefit of the Orthopaedic Instrument Global Design Center is our close link to Paragon Medical’s global manufacturing sites, including their Quality, Procurement and New Product Introduction (NPI) teams. This relationship has proven invaluable in mitigating both cost and quality issues prior to launch.
Our Design for Manufacturability (DFM) capabilities can reduce instrument complexity resulting in the reduction of both cost and quality issues, while ensuring long term manufacturability is evaluated early in the process.
The center’s design capabilities cover a broad spectrum of orthopaedic instrumentation. We have worked with small to major OEMs on a variety of projects while maintaining strict confidentiality of every project.
Our development team members average over 10 years experience in design and development for medical devices giving us a first-hand understanding of the industry’s product development needs.
The Orthopaedic Instrument Global Design Center has experience in the following market segments:
- Reconstruction
- Spine
- Sports Medicine
- Extremities
